Just yesterday I heard two cranes fly over the house and thought to myself, “why can’t they ever fly over when I’m outside and have my camera?”. The cranes fly over the house twice a day but never the same time and I never, ever when my camera is ready to go.
Today I came home from lunch and saw those cranes in the field by my house. I rushed inside to grab my camera, and wouldn’t you know it, the dogs just could not wait for their lunchtime potty break. I scrambled, getting the dogs outside and back in without either of them seeing the cranes (they would have scared them off) then grabbed my camera and walked to the edge of the yard. I was amazed they were still out there! No sooner had I aimed the camera for a shot, they decided to take flight!
I was happy to be able to get at least a few shots before they left. One of these days I will get one of them flying overhead!
