You wanted to find out a little bit about me? Please read on and I’ll try to keep from boring you too much.

The Basic Stuff

I am 48 years old and 4’11″ tall (or short… whichever you prefer). Although my name is spelled J-E-A-N-N-E, it is pronounced Jean. Family and close friends call me Jeanne Bean, Bean or Beaner. I am Native American and work full-time in Tribal Court as Court Clerk. I live in a very small town in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.

My husband Ken and I met in college in 1980 and got married in 1985. He is also Native American and has been the Tribal Chief for his tribe for over 20 years.

We have two children… well, they are adults now. Aaron is 26 and Rachel is 24.

I also have two dogs (Boston Terriers)… my babies, Zeus and Tank.

I love spending as much time as possible with my family (whenever they stay put long enough). My husband travels frequently and my kids… well, since they moved out I see them once or twice a week.

My Hobbies

Computer – My computer takes up a majority of my spare time… surfing around, playing games and such.

Football – I am addicted football… everyone who knows me can attest to that! The Green Bay Packers are my team. Once football season starts (actually training camp), you can ask me just about anything about my team and I call tell you. A word of advice… it is wise not to call me on the phone while I am watching a game, you will not have my total attention and I just might scream in your ear!!!

NASCAR – Jeff Gordon is my favorite driver. I try to watch as many races as I can in the summer, but I have to admit that once football season starts, racing takes a back seat.

Quilting – I like to make quilts, but I’m not addicted to it. Sometimes I can go for months without touching a project then all of a sudden I get a burst of creative energy for a week or two.

  • I drink 3-4 cans of Diet Mountain Dew a day.
  • I use to help my parents with commercial fishing when I was a teenager.
  • I have a room upstairs specifically for Green Bay Packer memorabilia.
  • I went on a cruise to the Bahamas.
  • I love strawberries.
  • My all-time favorite television show is America’s Funniest Home Videos.
  • I have 4 sisters and 1 brother.
  • My favorite colors are pink and purple.
  • My least favorite household chore is doing dishes.
  • I dislike driving or riding in a car going through big cities. It literally make me sick.
  • My favorite season is Fall.
  • I can’t carry a tune.
  • One of my pet peeves is people talking on cell phones in a restaurant.
  • I get a Christmas snow globe from my husband every Christmas.
  • My friends and I play Euchre whenever we play cards.
  • I take my own coffee to work.
  • I don’t like snakes and wood ticks.
  • I love every holiday.
  • I am afraid of heights.
  • I wear blue jeans 365 days a year.
  • I like the taste of eggs but cannot eat them… they make me gag.
  • I have a syrup phobia. Can’t explain it… it just creeps me out!
  • My favorite Disney Character is Mickey Mouse.
  • I love an old-fashioned bonfire on a summer night.
  • When I was a child, I was on the Bozo the Clown show and met Captain Kangaroo.
  • I love living in the U.P.
  • I don’t like hot, humid weather.
  • I love cooking a huge turkey dinner for my family, even when it’s not Thanksgiving.
  • I’ve been to Disney World three times.
  • I don’t very much care for country music.
  • I like watching the older television shows on Nick at Nite.
  • I do not wear dresses (unless I am forced to).
  • I have a small collection of Disney beanies.
